String of high profile Labour, Conservative and independent figures switch to Lib Dems
More converts to the Liberal Democrats thanks to the party’s strong line on Brexit.
This time it is a former MEP and (until just now at least) Labour member of the House of Lords:
I think I’ve just resigned from the Labour party by declaring that I will support the Liberal Democrats in the European elections.

He’s being joined by former Brexit supporter and Daily Mail columnist, Peter Oborne:
And now Peter Oborne @OborneTweets, journalist, Daily Mail columnist & former chief political commentator of The Daily Telegraph, declares he is voting @LibDems tomorrow. He previously supported #Brexit but changed his mind fairly recently. https://t.co/SLaGIYCvPe

Along with a Conservative peer:
I have come to the same conclusion as Michael Heseltine, for exactly the same reasons – and will be voting @LibDems in Thursday’s European Parliament elections.

And the former head of the civil service:
Yet another endorsement of the @LibDems clear message for tomorrow's European Elections from Gus O'Donnell, former Cabinet Secretary and Head of the Civil Service: #StopBrexit pic.twitter.com/lZZuEsNTGh

The actors Simon Callow and Susan Penhaligon are also backing the Liberal Democrats:
Pleased to hear Simon Callow is backing @libdems rightly saying we have “consistently and unequivocally supported remaining in the EU, and opposed leaving it. They are the only party to have offered leadership and clarity on this question.” Thank you Simon. #StopBrexit https://t.co/z5ox8DnGrQ

I’ve just heard that actress Susan Penhaligon will be voting @LibDems on Thursday. Thank you for your support! #StopBrexit

No wonder the party’s posters as in such demand and that Ben Goldacre is thinking of voting Lib Dem too.
Peter Oborne as well now, according to his twitter account.
It’s great to see so many leaders and I hope millions of less well-known people voting Lib Dem for the first time. Now how do we keep and enthuse these voters? It’s a task to look forward to.
