Layla Moran to be party’s Foreign Affairs spokesperson
Following Ed Davey’s election as Lib Dem leader, Layla Moran is taking up a new role:
Pleased to have accepted the role of Foreign Affairs Spokesperson for the @LibDems. I look forward to speaking up for marginalised groups, human rights and Britain’s place in the world, and to holding this Government to account at a time when we need to be building bridges.

In other news about the Liberal Democrat team:
The formidable @cajardineMP will be Treasury Spokesperson and put forward the case for a greener, fairer UK. Christine will show that now is the time to build back better.

The fantastic @amcarmichaelMP will take over the Home Affairs brief and shine a light on how this government is failing to keep our country safe.

More news to come in the following days.
Does this mean keeping an eye on Brexit as well?
don’t worry, the inestimable Layla will be keeping abreast of topics across parliament. This is just Ed’s attempt to keep her away from outshining him on domestic matters.
I have had an email from Layla, and I have seen her twice already on Mark’s posts, on different subjects, but nothing, rien, zero, zilch, from our new leader.. no ‘cut-through’ on the weekend media either, well not that I saw.
He needs to up his game, and fast.!
I take it you don’t read the Independent, Peter? Front page main story featured Ed over the weekend.
