The campaign package and the stunts have been brilliant. Though some opponents have tried to ridicule, it is the nature of our media that they need a spectacle to focus the cameras on.. and it has worked..
As a result we are almost getting equal billing which is remarkable, (but then they can’t give coverage of Greens and Reform without giving more coverage to us too).
The wisest thing of all is keeping out of the bickering between Starmer and Sunak and showing that our photo-ops have a serious message..
The great thing is that Ed Davey looks like he is enjoying himself and, unlike Starmer and Sunak, has come across as a human being with a life story to tell which reflects something real and tangible. The Party Political Broadcast featuring his son, John, was affecting rather than saccharine or sanctimonious; and all the stunts have at least given us some visibility.
